Water Strategies is still planning for the Israel Water Education and Trade Tour, which is scheduled from June 27 through July 7, 2021. However, given the travel uncertainties related to the COVID-19 pandemic, Water Strategies has decided to make a final “go or no go” decision on the tour on Monday, March 1, 2021.
As such, we encourage Individuals interested in participating in the tour to register.
In the event that Water Strategies cancels the June tour on March 1, the tour will be rescheduled to the following dates: October 3 through October 13, 2021. Upon cancellation of the June tour on March 1, tour participants may choose to get their deposit back for the June tour or transfer it to the October tour.
As previously mentioned in the tour information materials, travel insurance is recommended.

NOT INCLUDED IN PRICE:
Not included in your package are passports, visas, vaccinations, laundry, lunches, telephone, mini-bar, alcohol, other beverages you order, and food outside of the contracted tour operator menu as presented at a hotel or restaurant (these extra items will be billed to you before leaving the hotel, or restaurant), airport transfers on non-qualifying flights, porterage at airports, travel insurance, excess baggage fees, any fees or fuel surcharges imposed by the airlines after the date you register for your trip, and all other items not specifically mentioned.
A full deposit of $500 per person is required at time of registration. Final payment must be made in the form of a check (credit cards are only accepted for initial deposit, any remaining payments must be in check form) and is due no later than ninety (90) days prior to departure. Registrations received after ninety (90) days prior to departure must be accompanied by full payment.
There may be a late fee of $195 for all payments or new registrations received 75-60 days prior to departure. All tour prices are based on a minimum group size of 20 passengers for prices to be valid. If group size is 19-15 travelers, a $150 per person supplement to price may apply. If group size is 14-10 travelers, a $195 per person supplement to price may apply. If group size is less than 10 travelers, the tour may be cancelled due to lack of participation.
If final (full) payment is not received by imagine Tours and Travel, LLC sixty (60) days prior to departure, you will be automatically cancelled from the tour and your initial deposit of $500 will be forfeited. imagine reserves the right to add a surcharge if the dollar declines by more than 2% against the shekel or euro based on foreign exchange rates in effect on date 5/20/2020 when your tour was booked by your tour leader/organization. All payments are required in U.S. dollars.
Price is based on double occupancy (two persons sharing a room). When available, single rooms are often smaller than doubles. While imagine will try to match roommates, we cannot guarantee one will be available. Roommates may be assigned as late as sixty (60) days prior to departure. If one is not available or if you request a single room, there will be a single room supplement charge: $788 for basic itinerary.
All tours are final at sixty (60) days prior to departure. No changes and/or additions may be made to the tour after that time.

Because airlines often change flight schedules after brochures are printed, imagine reserves the right to shorten or lengthen the itinerary accordingly. You will be notified in writing when possible. If itinerary changes necessitate extra overnights, you will be charged $195 per night/per person (single rooms $225/night). Meals for extra nights are not included. Any changes and/or deviations from the program and/ or departure city listed by the passenger must be provided in writing to imagine Tours & Travel no later than seventy-five (75) days prior to departure and any extra costs incurred will be billed to the passport holder.
Monday, June 28, 2021: Arrival at Ben Gurion Airport and dinner in Netanya, Israel.
Tuesday, June 29, 2021: The group will visit the Caesarea National Park of Caesarea and see the Roman aqueduct and water cistern, proceed to Kibbutz Maga and visit the Netafim irrigation factory, continue to the Megiddo National Park to see the ancient water system, drive to the Sea of Galilee for dinner, and stay overnight at the Ron Beach Hotel in Tiberias, on the shores of the Sea of Galilee.
Wednesday, June 30, 2021: The group will drive north to see two of the main sources of the Jordan River, the Dan and Banias Rivers; go to the Golan Heights to see the Syrian border and Mt. Hermon; and proceed to the famous Golan Winery for tour and wine tasting. The day will end at the Sapir site near the Sea of Galilee, where water is pumped for the National Water Carrier, the water supply system that spans the length and breadth of Israel. Dinner and overnight at the Ron Beach Hotel in Tiberias.
Thursday, July 1, 2021: The group will depart Tiberias and drive to Mt. Arbel for an amazing panoramic view of the Sea of Galilee, drive to Mt. Gilboa to visit the hydroelectric power station and Kibbutz Maale Gilboa, proceed to Kibbutz Sde Eliyahu for an agriculture biotour, drive via the Jordan Valley and the Judean desert to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight at the Grand Court Hotel Jerusalem.
Friday, July 2, 2021: The group will visit the Mount of Olives for a beautiful panoramic view over the Old City of Jerusalem, then visit the City of David, including the Hezekiah Tunnel. Brave participants can walk through the wet tunnel. The other option is to walk along the dry tunnel to the Pool of Siloam, then drive to Armon Hanatziv to see the ancient tunnels that convey water from Solomon’s pool to the temple. The group will then enter the Old City to see the Western Wall tunnels, the Pool of Bethesda, and the Roman Cardo with its old wells. Option to visit the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Dinner and overnight at the Grand Court Hotel Jerusalem.
Saturday, July 3, 2021: The group will visit the Israel Museum, which includes the Shrine of the Book, which houses the Dead Sea Scrolls, and a miniature model of Jerusalem during the First Temple period. Then the group will drive to the Sataf spring in the Judean Hills to see how the citizens of Jerusalem get a few acres to grow their own vegetables and fruits, using an ancient irrigation system of leading water between terraces and end at the Beit Zait Reservoir and Dam. Dinner and overnight at the Grand Court Hotel Jerusalem.
Sunday, July 4, 2021: The group will depart Jerusalem and drive to the Einot Zukim Nature Reserve, where there are freshwater springs and typical oasis vegetation and animal life. Next, in the desert next to the Dead Sea, which has salty water and no life at all, the group will proceed to the Ein Gedi Nature Reserve, where kibbutz members pump water for their mineral water factory. The group will then visit the world heritage site of Masada, where participants can walk the snake trail by foot or ascend via cable car to see King Herod’s fortress, an ancient synagogue, a byzantine church, and the water cistern. The group will drive to Ein Bokek for dinner and spend the night at Daniel Hotel Dead Sea.
Monday, July 5, 2021: The group will depart the Dead Sea and drive via the Arava Desert Valley to the Yair Research and Development Agriculture Center and tour the Center for Modern Desert Farming, one of the world's most advanced. There will be a guided visit to the experimental greenhouses and a presentation of agricultural inventions to deal with the challenges of soil and desert climate. The group will then continue to the ecological Kibbutz of Lotan near Eilat and learn how it transformed sandy desert soil into a green and flowering organic garden. Participants will learn basic organic and permaculture tips and practical solutions that the Center for Creative Ecology has developed over the years to treat waste, raise healthy food, save energy, and build naturally. Proceeding to Eilat, the tour will aim to visit a desalination facility the draws from the Red Sea. Dinner and overnight at the Leonardo Royal Eilat.
Tuesday, July 6, 2021: The group will depart Eilat and drive via the Ramon Crater to the Negev Desert Research and Development Center near Ashalim, which specializes in using salty water for agriculture. It will then proceed to Kibbutz Hatzerim near Beersheba, the southern branch of the Netafim irrigation factory and continue to the desalination facility in Ashkelon or Ashdod on the Mediterranean sea. We will hold a farewell Dinner in Jaffa and then drive to Ben Gurion Airport for a night flight back home.
